Basic Knitting Lessons - taught by Nan Sexton

FREE!!!

Basic Knitting classes offered free of charge on most Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:30-3:30 taught by Nan Sexton. You will need at least one hour to take the lesson. Please call in advance of coming to make sure that the teacher is available and so that we may prepare for your arrival. We will provide materials for your use in class.

Basic Peyote Stitch Techniques Class - taught by Tammy C. McNabb

If you always wanted to learn peyote stitch and just couldn't seem to get the hang of it well... now's your chance!!! Geared toward the beginner but a great refresher class for intermediates! This is not a finished project class but a one where you will make samples of different types of peyote stitch such as flat peyote and round peyote! All supplies included with class!!!

Peyote Stitch Slider Bracelet Class - taught by Charlene Thomas

Intermediate to advanced class. Students MUST have a basic working knowledge of peyote stitch. Make a beautiful faux antique looking slider bracelet complete with vintage style Swarovski (r) adornments. In Part I students will concentrate on peyote stitching the sliders for the bracelet. Finishing techniques and embellishing will be covered in Part II.

Art Clay Silver And Hollow Form Techniques - taught by Tammy C. McNabb

Students will work with cork clay to make forms that will be used as bases for beautiful Art Clay Silver hollow form pendants and beads. Finishing and patina techniques will be discussed and demonstrated.

Basic Textile Weaving Class, Part I of six classes - taught by Tim Flint

The other five classes will be held every Wednesday thereafter from 10:00-1:00 on the following dates... February 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and March 1st.

The is the first class in a series of 6 classes geared toward learning the basics of weaving. Class seating is very limited!!! If you are interested please register as soon as possible!!! We will offer a selection of basic warp and weft thread for the student to choose from for their projects. If the student wishes to use something other than the selection offered it must be approved by the teacher and purchased separately.

Basic Stringing Class - taught by Barbara Fox

Easy stringing techniques for making those fashion statement bracelets! This class is geared to teaching you the basics of bead stringing. You will learn to three to four different techniques for making bracelets. These same stringing and clasp techniques can also be used to make necklaces! All techniques will be demonstrated by the teacher. The students will then be allowed to make as many of each of the bracelets as they wish until the end of class time.

Advanced Knitting Class - taught by Tim Flint

Two Classes for $40.00 -or- Six classes for $60.00

These secessions will focus on the individual intermediate knitter who wants to move to the next level. Help with designing/selecting a project, selecting materials and initiating the project will be available for a two class secessions for $40.00 or six class secessions for $60.00 This first class will be an organizational one where Tim will work with each person to set up a schedule that suits them best.

Come and learn some fun and easy wire and bead techniques for making earrings. Three different styles of earrings will be demonstrated by the instructor. Students will then be allowed to complete as many of the three designs they can before class time is over.

This class is a fantastic opportunity to complete a medium sized project on a countermarche loom. Assistance will be provided in designing the project, selecting the appropriate materials, learning the unique properties of the countermarche loom system and following through to completion of the project.

Techniques for putting together knitted garments will be demonstrated and tried by each participant. Grafting, ladder stitch, and setting sleeves using the percentage method will be covered. ***Students will be required to bring specific knitted swatches to class!!!

Art Clay Silver Class with Keumboo and Patina Techniques - taught by Tammy C. McNabb

This is an intermediate class where students will create a bead and/or pendent in a style of their own choosing using basic Art Clay techniques. Each student will create their own design to embellish with 24kt gold. Samples and photos will be on hand to help the student with the design process. Students will then transform the surface of the fired Art Clay Silver piece with a traditional Japanese metal working technique that bonds 24kt gold to the surface. Further transformation will be achieved by giving the item a patina with liver of sulfur.
